About Alexandra

French-Australian, born and raised in Paris, I have spent several years overseas (including in China, New Zealand and Italy). My love of art goes hand in hand with my passion for languages: trilingual (French, English and German) and proficient in Chinese, I am a qualified conference interpreter, currently working for such organisations as Amnesty International, the EU Commission, and the World Health Organisation, to name a few.

My interest in Buddhism grew from my experience living in Beijing and Xiamen (China). I then graduated from The Courtauld Institute of Art in London with an MA in Buddhist art history and conservation. I am also fond of photography and long distance running (with 7 marathons to date, my favourite being Reykjavik).

In Treviso, Italy I co-curated the inaugural exhibition “What is written will remain” at the newly founded Gallerie delle Prigioni, under the auspices of the Fondazione Benetton. Housed in a former Habsburg prison, the exhibited artworks shed light on writing as a token of memory and identity, with media and techniques ranging from calligraphy to sculpture, tapestry and video.

I have designed this website as a creative portal into my world, showcasing some of my photographs and curatorial work. I hope you enjoy it!
